Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the City of Los Angeles in response to COVID-19. To start the process of becoming a Disaster Service Worker Volunteer (DSWV), please review the information below to determine which type of opportunities you are most interested in and then click the corresponding box to get started.
Please note, all volunteers will be required to have a government-issued photo ID checked in-person and complete all waivers and documents before being scheduled (placed) for a shift. The photo ID check is simply to confirm identity; it is not for purposes of verifying immigration status. If you are interested only in virtual opportunities, please select DSWV-I below and type "Virtual" into the Group Information section of your profile. The in-person photo ID check may be waived for some virtual volunteer opportunities.
We kindly ask, in accordance with established public health guidelines, that individuals refrain from in-person volunteer service if they are a member of a vulnerable population as identified by public health officials. If you are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the previous 14 days, please stay home.
Please remember that by signing up for a volunteer shift, you are committing to attend. Programs are dependent upon reliable volunteers to operate and no-show volunteers may result in the inability for a vital service to run.
